Role Overview
The primary responsibility of the Director of Business Development is to assist the SVP of Business Development in closing new business by generating and following up on sales leads and new business opportunities. The ideal candidate is well connected in the nonprofit sector and fully equipped with the natural ability to make connections and build relationships with key decision makers in nonprofit organizations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify new business opportunities in the nonprofit sector along with strategic plans on how to make significant connections to drive new contracts. Meets with stakeholders and creates a customized approach to winning their business.
- Manages a large portfolio of leads and makes significant investments in relationship building in order to drive new business and referrals.
- Manages and ensures timeliness and effectiveness of following up on prospects. Provides new ideas and marketing plans to connect with new markets.
- Provides reports on activities and results by updating CRM with each contact.
- Maintains positive client and team relationships to deliver an extraordinary client experience. Engages with clients and prospects with integrity and professionalism, proactively communicating, and instilling confidence in Westfall Gold. Effectively collaborates with internal team members to deliver a unified, seamless experience for our clients.
SCHEDULE & TRAVEL
Flexible 40 hour weekly schedule during non-travel periods. Available to provide after hours support as needed.
Qualifications
Experience
- 5+ years experience in sales to nonprofit organizations.
- Experience in selling the highest price product in the market space..
- Experience in long sales cycles.
- Comfortable selling into both faith based and secular organizations.
- Knowledge of and experience in customer focused, consultative sales.
- Experience selling into the C suite.
Skills
- Above average communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent negotiation and persuasive skills for the purposes of closing deals
- Good networking skills and the ability to handle numerous leads at one time
- Ability to work under pressure and devise new business strategies
- Passionate about building connections and finding ways to overcome obstacles
- Resilience and a willingness to deal with rejection
- Excellent organization and management capabilities, including being a team player
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
